The National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP) 2020 plan was launched by the Government of India in 2013 with the objective of achieving national fuel security by promoting electric and hybrid vehicles.
The Union Budget 2019-20 presented by Finance Minister envisaged a vision to make India a global hub for manufacturing electric vehicles. During her maiden budget speech, the Finance Minister also outlined various proposals for giving a boost to manufacturing of electric vehicles in India and announced tax rebate for buying electric vehicles.
