Abstract:
With the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) (Amendment) Regulations, 2019, General safety requirement for electric vehicle charging stations have been incorporated in the Central Electricity Authority (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, 2010.
According to this amendment, All electric vehicle charging stations shall be designed, installed, tested, certified, inspected and connected in accordance with the provisions mentioned in this document. This includes:
(1) Earth protection system for charging stations
(2) The requirement to prevent fire for electric vehicle charging stations
(3) Testing of charging stations
(4) Inspection and periodic assessment of charging stations
(5) Maintenance of records
(6) International Standard for charging stations
