E-launch of GIZ's Report-3 on EV Charging Infrastructure and its Grid Integration

  • Event Cordinator : GIZ India and IIT Bombay
  • Venue : Online
  • Event date : July 28, 2022

GIZ along with IIT Bombay organized the e-launch of the third report “Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure and its Grid Integration in India: Status Quo, Critical Analysis and Way Forward” developed under the study “Integration of Electric Vehicles Charging Infrastructure with Distribution Grid: Global Review, India’s Gap Analyses and Way Forward”. A consortium led by IIT Bombay along with Florence School of Regulation (FSR), Technical University Denmark (DTU), Cardiff University and Universidad Pontificia Comillas has undertaken this study. This study has been carried out under the purview of GIZ’s Nationally Determined Contribution-Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA) project, in close collaboration and under the guidance of NITI Aayog.

This specific report, the third in the series of four reports of this study, is focused on a detailed analysis and documentation of EV charging infrastructure and its grid integration in Indian EV ecosystem, covering the current status analysis of various aspects, including EV charging technology, standards and protocols applicable in India, grid integration status of EVs, stakeholders in Indian EV ecosystem, policy and regulatory matters related to EV charging infrastructure (both at central and state level).

Webinar on Perspectives on Battery Reuse and Recycling for India

  • Event Cordinator : Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH India and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP
  • Venue : Online
  • Event date : October 05, 2023

The webinar aimed to disseminate the findings from a recent report entitled "Overview of battery recycling ecosystem: Stakeholder identification and perspective on Environment, Health & Safety aspects" released under the NDC-TIA India component. The NDC Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA) aims to facilitate a paradigm shift to zero-emission transport across Asia. The program will achieve this shift by supporting China, India, and Vietnam to develop comprehensive decarbonization strategies and solutions to implement them. This program is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), which is working under the leadership of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, in close cooperation with its founder, the Federal Ministry of Environment and the Federal Foreign Office. In India, the NDC-TIA project focuses on developing regulatory frameworks and strengthening policies to support electric vehicle deployment. The activities under NDC-TIA India component are carried out in close collaboration with our implementation partner NITI Aayog, Government of India.
