The webinar on “EV charging infrastructure and its Grid integration in Indian EV ecosystem” was  organised by GIZ and IIT Bombay as a part of Transport and Climate Change Week 2021 of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) from 21 – 25 June 2021.

A variety of technologies for reducing new passenger car type-approval CO2  emission levels are available, including efficiency improvements of combustion engine vehicles and transitioning to electric vehicles.

With introduction of the EU’s first CO2 standard for new passenger cars, official type-approval emissions decreased at a rate of about 3.5% per year, compared to about 1.2% prior to regulation.

The future of transport is the overarching theme of this “infographic novel,” which focuses on a family spanning three generations – including a very special dog, Rudi.

The International Association of Public Transport (UITP) shares the societal concern around the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) and its impact on climate change.

GIZ along with IIT Bombay is organizing the e-launch of the first two reports from the project “Integration of Electric Vehicles Charging Infrastructure with Distribution Grid: Global Review, India’s Gap Analyses and Way Forward”.

The “Clean Vehicles Directive” (CVD) of the European Union sets binding minimum targets for the first time for the purchase of new low-emission and CO 2 -free buses in local public transport. 

Among transportation subsectors, on-road diesel vehicles are the leading contributor to air pollution and associated disease burdens. Within that group, heavy-duty vehicles are the main contributor to exhaust emissions, accounting for 86% of on-road diesel nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions in 2015.
