As reported by Bloomberg, analysts say they expect the cost of cobalt, lithium, and nickel to decline in the next two years in response to over-investment in green energy ventures. Market corrections will drive down prices for the abundant supply of the metals, with lithium anticipated to experience the greatest adjustment.

India’s auto component industry is all set to hitch its wagon to the electric vehicle (EV) revolution. According to a recent survey by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), 60 per cent of its 800 members say that they are ready to supply to EVs, while the rest say that they will be prepared to do so later this year, or latest by 2023.

Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy approved to encourage adoption of EVs

Under the Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy, the state will reimburse INR 5000 to 10,000 SGST for two-wheeler EVs and INR 10,000 to 20,000 for the purchase of three-wheeler EVs, depending on the battery capacity. The primary objective of the EV Policy is to encourage electric vehicles’ adoption in the state.

Delhi okays induction of 1,500 low-floor e-buses in public transport fleet

The Delhi government has approved the induction of 1500 low-floor electric buses in its public transportation fleet. The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) also decided to allocate 10 sites to various agencies for setting up Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations and battery awapping stations under Delhi EV Policy 2020.

Country’s first organic waste-powered EV charging station inaugurated in Mumbai

The station, a first-of-its-kind, will generate 220 units of electricity from food waste collected from its nearby areas, mostly from bulk generators like hotels and offices. Along with powering street lights, this energy plant will now charge electric vehicles too. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to set up organic waste-powered EV charging station in each of the 24 administrative wards.

Ashok Leyland's arm Switch Mobility to invest INR 1000 crore in electric vehicle plant

Switch Mobility, the electric vehicle arm of Ashok Leyland, will be investing INR 1000 crore in a dedicated EV plant in South India, likely to be in the state of Tamil Nadu, on the outskirts of Chennai. The plan is to set up 30,000 units of E-LCV capacity and 10,000 units electric buses that will help Ashok Leyland to cater to to cater to rising demand for EVs for the last-mile goods and public transport.
