The electric vehicle (EV) penetration improved sharply in the two-wheeler and three-wheeler segment in India during July 2024, while the government extended the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) subsidy till September 30. Electric 2W volume crossed the 1,00,000 mark last month while E3W volumes reached a new peak of 63,000, according to the report by BNP Paribas India.

The IEA has released a new interactive tool that allows users to explore the greenhouse gas emissions of passenger cars with different powertrains – battery electric, conventional and plug-in hybrid. The calculator takes into account the entire lifecycle of the cars – from raw materials and mining to production and end-use – to provide a precise estimate of the direct and indirect emissions of different types of vehicles.
