Abstract:
At COP26 in Glasgow, India set ambitious targets for the transport sector and climate protection in general: India intends to become climate-neutral by 2070 and to phase out the registration of new combustion vehicles by 2040. These plans need now to be implemented, and the Indian governments on national and state level have already initiated a number of new policies.
This webinar highlighted the current situation in the Indian transport sector and about future decarbonization strategies. How can the transformation succeed in a country with such a highly fragmented transport sector and large population? The expert shared their first-hand experiences, addressing current policy instruments and technical innovations and discuss the current developments in India that are relevant for Germany.
