Karnataka Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Policy

Abstract:
Government of Karnataka with the intention to make Bengaluru the EV capital of India, formulated the Karnataka Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage policy to enable the growth of the electric mobility sector in the state. The policy was formalised by conducting around table conference with all the stakeholders from EV Industry, Academia, CSTEP, Taxi aggregators in association with Carnegie India to make Karnataka a preferred destination for the development of Electric Mobility.
The main objectives of this policy include to attract investments of INR 31,000 crores and create employment opportunities to 55, 000 persons from both demand and supply side along with providing opportunities in R&D development in Electric Mobility.
