How Fleets of Shared Vehicles Can End the Car Dependency of Cities

Abstract:
This report presents shared transportation as a new paradigm of urban mobility. Highlighting the issue of car dominance in the cities, some approaches to mitigating urban mobility problems are summarized. A simulation platform developed by International Transport Forum (ITF) to explore different configurations of shared transport solutions for cities is presented. It also shows after effect of the practice how this can be good for the environment by less CO2 emission, providing more clean technology and free space etc.
