Abstract:

This report analyses how policies, public involvement, and sectoral transformation can establish circumstances for sustainable lifestyles that adhere to low-emission practices and are resilient and inclusive. It utilizes worldwide evidence, encompassing workshop discussions, IEA analysis, and a diverse array of global case studies, to ascertain significant impacts and insights derived from evidence and practice. It emphasizes that behavioral change is most effective when underpinned by cohesive legislative frameworks, targeted initiatives that address affordability, and structural modifications across sectors like buildings, transportation, and appliances. The report offers direction for policymakers by highlighting effective practices and practical insights to build inclusive plans that promote sustainable lifestyles and ensure equitable distribution of the gains from the energy transition.
