BYPL-EV Motors partnership installs EV charging station in Delhi with two types of chargers

BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) and EV Motors India Pvt Ltd have announced a partnership under which the two will set up electric vehicle charging stations. Of these, the first has been installed and inaugurated at Patparganj in East Delhi. The charging station is located in IP Extension, Patparganj, carries the brand ‘PlugNgo’ and boasts a Central Management System (CMS). The CMS helps oversee operations of the EV charger for on-demand customer support and to provide information on maintenance. Depending on the make and model, an electric vehicle can be fully charged between 45 and 90 minutes. The PlugNgo charging station is expected to cater to 15 to 18 cars per day.
EESL signs agreement with NOIDA authority to install EV charging units and related infrastructure

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of PSUs under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has signed an agreement with the New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (NOIDA) to promote electric vehicles and install public EV charging stations & related infrastructure. The partnership will also facilitate the creation of an infrastructural ecosystem to accelerate e-mobility uptake. EESL will make an upfront investment on services pertaining to the agreement along with the operation and maintenance of public charging infrastructure by qualified manpower. NOIDA authority will be responsible for the provision of space for the charging infrastructure. The initiative is estimated to save over 3.7 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per e-car per year.
Electric car sales this year resist Covid-19’s blow to global car market

The number of electric cars on the road is expected to reach almost 10 million this year, as sales grow this year despite the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a new report by International Energy Agency. Electric car sales are expected to fare better than the overall passenger car market, with EV sales this year to broadly match the 2.1 million sold in 2019, according to the latest edition of the IEA’s Global EV Outlook. This would account for a record 3% of the total global car sales. Based on data from January to April this year, total global passenger car sales this year are set to decline by 15%.
Sanction of electric charging stations under FAME India-II Scheme

Department of Heavy Industry has sanctioned 2,636 electric vehicles (EVs) charging stations in 62 cities across 24 states/UTs under FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles in India) scheme phase II. In Andhra Pradesh, 92 charging stations have been sanctioned to Vijayawada, 71 charging stations to Vishakhapatnam, 68 charging stations to Tirupati and 35 charging stations to Kakinada. In Telangana, 118 charging stations have been sanctioned to City of Hyderabad, 10 each charging stations to cities of Warangal and Karimnagar.
EESL signs MoU with BHEL to set up a network of public charging stations at highways and cities across India

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture under Ministry of Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), to set up a network of Public Charging Infrastructure for electric mobility at various highways across the country. EESL and BHEL will jointly explore opportunities in the field of e-mobility and fast-track the adoption of EVs in the country under Government of India’s National E-Mobility Programme. As part of the MoU, BHEL will offer complete EPC solutions from concept to commissioning while EESL will make the entire upfront investment on services, along with the operation and maintenance of the public charging infrastructure.
In Phase-II Fame India Scheme 2636 EV charging stations sanctioned

The Department of Heavy Industries has sanctioned 2636 charging stations in 62 cities across 24 States/UTs under FAME India (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles in India) scheme phase II. As many as 317 EV charging stations have been allotted in Maharashtra, 266 in Andhra Pradesh, 256 in Tamil Nadu, 228 in Gujarat, 205 in Rajasthan, 207 in Uttar Pradesh, 172 in Karnataka, 159 in Madhya Pradesh, 141 in West Bengal, 138 in Telangana, 131 in Kerala, 72 in Delhi, 70 in Chandigarh, 50 in Haryana, 40 in Meghalaya, 37 in Bihar, 29 in Sikkim, 25 each in Jammu & Kashmir and Chhattisgarh, 20 in Assam, 18 in Odisha and 10 each in Uttarakhand, Puducherry and Himachal Pradesh.
EESL receives India’s first ZS EV by MG Motor

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has placed the order for 5 MG ZS EVs that will be used by government officials to further the cause of EVs as part of its National E-Mobility Programme. This procurement by EESL is driven by the objective of facilitating faster adoption of disruptive solutions while balancing economic development and environmental sustainability. With this specific initiative, EESL seeks to create a market for electric vehicles, through its unique business model of aggregation of demand and bulk procurement. EESL is seeking to leverage the immense potential of replacement of existing vehicles in the government departments for initial demand aggregation.
