Abstract:
In this research work, a power converter suitable for HEV with a primary energy source port, primary storage port, and a secondary storage port is considered. The prime objective is to synthesize a non-isolated power converter with four ports that could facilitate simultaneous power flow from multiple sources to the load. To synthesize a non-isolated power converter, a generic switch boost converter driving a load is initially taken. Primary storage is added to a boost vi converter whose load terminal is in parallel with the first boost converter. The converter optimization rules are then applied so that the individual passive components could be shared between the sources. The secondary storage should aid the primary source or primary storage for driving the load. Accordingly, the secondary storage is included in a loop common to the primary source and storage units with a controlled switch.
