Abstract:
This paper considers bold fiscal policies for the transition to a net-zero EU. It argues for upfront incentives for electric vehicles and subsidies to renewable energy sources, and discusses the feasibility of those policies by drawing a parallel to fiscal policies during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic
