Abstract:

In a cabinet meeting held on 7th March 2019, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the union approved setting up of a National Mission on Transformative Mobility and Battery Storage, to drive clean, connected, shared, sustainable and holistic mobility initiatives. Based of this, the Central Government constituted an inter-Ministerial Steering Committee, comprising of the secretaries of Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Department of Heavy industry, Department of Science and Technology, Department for Promotion of industry and internal Trade and Director General, Bureau of industrial Stands as members and CEO of NlTl Aayog as the Chairman of the committee.

The Mission, housed in NlTl Aayog and served by the Transport (infrastructure Connectivity) Vertical of NlTl Aayog, rolled out this notification, clearly indicating the terms of reference of the mission.
