Abstract:
Electric Vehicles (EVs) appear to be a viable answer to the problem of rising carbon emissions, dwindling fossil fuels, and rising fuel prices. With the support of numerous government-sponsored programmes, the adoption of electric vehicles in India is booming on a big scale. However, deficiency in charging infrastructures, battery technologies, and charging standards leads to challenges in EVs adoption. This paper analyzes and focuses on the major challenges in EV adoption in India. The paper also highlights various charging standards available, the current status of EVs in India, and investigates various possible impediments to EVs charging infrastructure. To accelerate EVs adoption and charging infrastructure, various action plans in the Indian context are suggested in the paper.
