Abstract:
In this work, cost minimization and emission minimization has been emphasized while satisfying the microgrid constraints. The softwares utilized for simulation are OpenDSS, Mipower and Microgrid. Metaheuristic algorithm has been utilized to solve these complex problems. The algorithm utilized here is based on realistic mimicking of grey wolf’s hunting process. The results obtained by the developed method are compared with other algorithms to show the efficacy of the proposed algorithm. By comparison of the results, it is concluded that the proposed method produces better loss savings. The solution proposed with implementation of OpenDSS and MATLAB is giving efficient results not only for balanced systems but also for unbalanced systems and hence this method can be used to provide the solution for microgrid operation as microgrids are also operating as an unbalanced system.
