Road freight decarbonization in Europe: readiness of the European fleets for zero-emission trucking
Publication Year: 2022
Author(s): Ragon P-L, Rodríguez F
Abstract:
The road freight sector is increasingly accountable for its environmental impact, and stakeholders are responsible for a growing demand for zero-emission trucking. Although fleets are beginning to transition to zero-emission vehicles, logistics operators still perceive a number of barriers that need to be overcome to fully engage the transition of their fleets. The report recommends a number of actions to accelerate the deployment of zero-emission trucks in Europe such as building knowledge on real-world performance of zero-emission trucks, increasing the access to charging and refueling infrastructure, increasing vehicle supply through binding CO2 regulation etc.
