Abstract:

The Transport and Climate Change 2018 Global Status Report (TCC-GSR) describes trends in transport emissions and illustrates policies as well as policy targets across all transport sub-sectors. It sets a baseline that helps to capture the progress of transport in regard to climate action. The TCC-GSR is a key resource for policy-makers to support raising ambition on climate action (mitigation and adaptation) in sustainable transport. The TCC-GSR is a key resource to increase ambition in UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). It offers policy-makers and practitioners a compilation of 180 policy examples from over 70 countries. The TCC-GSR provides a data repository on transport and climate change (compiled in the Transport Knowledge Base (TraKB), combining quantitative and qualitative data in more than 60 figures.
