Author(s): Agora Verkehrswende, Boston Consulting Group (BCG)
Abstract:
For this study, the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Agora Verkehrswende analyzed the changes both in the classic automotive industries (manufacturers, suppliers, maintenance) and in industries related to electromobility such as mechanical and plant engineering, energy production, energy infrastructure and recycling. In addition to the technological change towards electromobility, the study takes into account five other trends that are relevant for the labor market in the industries concerned: the development of the market volume, the equipment of vehicles and their digitization, productivity increases and the migration of jobs to other countries. The basis was expert interviews and market data from 26 affected industries in Germany and Europe as a whole.
