Abstract:
The 2022/2023 edition of this study provides a statistical and visual summary of the most recent trends in the Chinese passenger automobile market. This review examines vehicle specifications, carbon dioxide (CO2) emission rates, and related emission control technology in light of recent regulation modifications.
The report emphasizes the increasing prominence of zero-emission vehicles, particularly electric vehicles, and their considerable impact on emission patterns within the Chinese passenger car market. Key features encompass:
Sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have escalated, rising from 14% of the market in 2021 to over 35% in 2023.
The overall CO2 emission rates of new passenger vehicles fell by 58% from 2012 to 2023.
New energy vehicles (NEVs) demonstrated enhancements in critical efficiency indicators, including electric range and energy usage, indicative of progress in battery technology and consumer demand.
