This notification issued by the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises on 28th March 2019 was to include the a.) Technology Definitions for the eligible category of vehicles including that of Advanced Batteries and b.) Performance & Efficiency of vehicles to be eligible for demand incentive under the scheme as per ANNEXURE-I and ANNEXURE-II respectively as mentioned in this document.

This notification of Central Government consists the names of the members who constitute the “National Council for Electric Mobility (NCEM)” in pursuance of the decision of the Cabinet in its meeting held on 31° March 2011 for the launch of the “National Mission for Electric Mobility” and for setting up of National Council for Electric Mobility (NCEM) & National Board for Electric Mobility (NBEM) to propagate electric mobility and manufacture of electric vehicles (including hybrid vehicles) and their components.

The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways allowed registration of electric vehicles without pre-fitted batteries with the release of this notification on 12th August 2020.

This amendment was ordered on 24th August 2018 on the request of VC& MD, NREDCAP (who signed an MoU with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd.,(EESL), Joint Venture Company of Government of India/PSUs for the supply of 10,000 electrical vehicles under lease arrangement) so that the applicable incentives can also be made available for setting up of charging infrastructure or hydrogen generation and refuelling stations for Government Departments/undertakings along with an extension in the exemption of registration fee and road tax until 2024.

Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission, in the exercise of its powers under Sections 62 and 64 and other provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, approved this Tariff Order on 30th May 2019.
