Electric Mobility in Europe: A Comprehensive Review of Motivators and Barriers in Decision Making Processes
2018
Author(s): Biresselioglu ME, Demirbag Kaplan M, Yilmaz BK
The long-term goal of the EU to achieve a competitive low-carbon economy is mainly focused on encouraging environmentally sustainable investments, in particular with regard to reducing energy consumption in buildings, the transition to electric vehicles and developing smart electricity networks, thus promoting the use of renewable energy to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 80% by 2050 compared to 1990 levels.
Transforming Transportation: Toward Sustainable Mobility for All
2017
Author(s): Dalkmann H, Irigoyen Jose L
In 2015 and 2016, the international community made a series of global commitments, which provide a clear vision of what sustainable transport looks like: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the New Urban Agenda at Habitat III, the Brasilia Declaration on road safety, and the Ashgabat Declaration.
E-Mobility: Dynamic Mono-Phase Loads Control During Charging Session of Electric Vehicles
2018
Author(s): Corzato G, Secco L, Vitella A, Nagar AK, Secco EL
This paper presents the primary objective of a research project which aims at enhancing the world of e-mobility by highlighting the continuous evolution and demand of the Electric Vehicle (EV) in modern cities and the consequent need for more and more innovative charging systems.
Market Monitor: European Passenger Car Registrations January–August 2020
2020
Author(s): International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT)
This factsheet focuses on new passenger car registrations of category M1. Electric vehicles here include battery electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and fuel cell vehicles. Light commercial vehicles are not included.
Electric Vehicles in India: Financial and Environmental Perspectives
2018
Author(s): Goswami R, Tripathi GC
To save our planet from climate change, reducing automotive pollution worldwide is a cumbersome challenge. One solution to reducing pollution may be the introduction of electric vehicles. In this paper, various factors of total cost of ownership of conventional and electric cars from both financial and environmental perspectives are studied.
E-Mobility: Smart Grid and Charging Session of Electric Vehicles
2018
Author(s): Corzato G, Secco L, Rasheed A, Nagar AK, Secco EL
Since the beginning of the twenty-first century, the e-mobility market has been aiming for a radical and substantial change of mentality by the community. The fundamental objective of this new vision is the reduction of CO2 emissions, which are the main cause of global temperature rise.
Incentivizing Smart Charging: Modeling Charging Tariffs for Electric Vehicles in German and French Electricity Markets
2018
Author(s): Ensslen A, Ringler P, Dörr L, Jochem P, Zimmermann F, Fichtner W
Over the past few years, registration figures of plug-in electric vehicles have increased rapidly in industrialized countries. This could cause considerable mid- to long-term effects on electricity markets. To tackle potential challenges specific to electric power systems, the authors develop a load-shift-incentivizing electricity tariff that is suitable for electric vehicle users and analyze the tariff scheme in three parts.
De-carbonization of Indian Railways: Project plan (Phase I)
2016
Author(s): Ray S, Bandyopadhyay K
This report estimates the growth in passenger and freight demand in 2030-31, in three scenarios of GDP growth: optimistic, realistic and pessimistic. A four-step calculation was used to estimate energy required for passenger and freight transport.
Experiences From an E-Mobility Project in a Local Power Grid With Redox-Flow Energy Storage System. Project Report
2018
Author(s): Hommel S, Blumhagen C, Leonhardt S, Werler P, Bodach M, Zacharias L, Demmler F, Bilsing F
The project report presented would highlight the challenges and synergy impact of increasing electric mobility and renewable energy on the local power grid. In order to align local energy output and requirements, the implemented redox flow storage system was used.
Fast Charging Battery Monitoring System for Lead-Acid Batteries
2018
Author(s): Jaiswal S, Patil U, Gambhir A
India is currently the world's second largest two-wheeler market, Asia's third largest market for passenger vehicles, and the fifth largest market for buses and trucks in the world. Because of this, India currently ranks 4th on the CO2 emissions scale.
