Evaluation of Grid Compatible Load Management Concepts for E-Mobility in Distribution Grids

2019

Author(s): Thie N, Junge E, Hillenbrand S, Konermann M

Due to the high peak loads of electric vehicles, the increase in electromobility is expected to increase grid usage. In particular, due to high local penetration in individual low-voltage grids, the probability of local grid congestion also increases.

High Speed Synchronous Reluctance Motors for Electric Vehicles: A Focus on Rotor Mechanical Design

2019

Author(s): Credo A, Fabri G, Villani M, Popescu M

This paper deals with the design of high-speed Synchronous Reluctance motors for electric vehicle applications. The need to enhance power density and lowering costs leads to the design of high speed motors with a reduced amount of rare earth. Pure synchronous reluctance motors potentially operate at high speed and exhibit a low cost rotor compared to PM and induction motors.
