Abstract:

The transport sector contributes more than 30% towards the emission of harmful gases in the environment, becoming a matter of concern to the global community. Advancement in Electric Vehicle (EV) technology is one of the potential solutions to significantly reduce the GHG emission share of the transportation sector in this decade. The charging of the EV is one of the areas which require significant attention to provide the long distance drive possible and faster charging time. The research work presented in this thesis mainly focuses on the later part of the battery charging, which is the fast-charging mechanism. This thesis proposes three fast charging methodologies for Li-ion batteries employed with a controller.
