Abstract:

A major challenge faced by users of electric vehicles is to obtain an estimation of the time taken by the route that depends on parameters such as charger time, geography and temperature. It is therefore crucial to find energy-optimal and time-efficient routes. In this paper, the authors have devised a method that will help Electric Vehicle users planning long distance trips get routes that are optimal and get an estimate time needed to complete the trip. The proposed method takes into consideration the temperature and its effect on charging and battery capacity along with other data such as elevation, traffic to get more realistic and time-optimal routes.
