
Electronic Mobility Promotion Scheme - 2024

Abstract:
The Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme – 2024 (EMPS-2024), launched by the Ministry of Heavy Industry, Government of India, is a transitional initiative designed to sustain the momentum of electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the country following the conclusion of the FAME-II scheme. With a total outlay of ₹500 crore, EMPS-2024 is operational from April 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024, and specifically targets the promotion of e-two-wheelers (e-2Ws) and e-three-wheelers (e-3Ws).
The scheme provides demand incentives to reduce the effective upfront cost of EVs:
₹10,000 per e-2W (price capped at ₹1.5 lakh),
₹25,000 to ₹50,000 per e-3W, depending on vehicle type.
