Abstract:

The article presents a proposed electric vehicle charging station (EVCS) development for Shah Amanat International Airport in Bangladesh. The development involves a load profile prediction method using Fuzzy logic and RNN-LSTM, considering factors like climate data, battery state of charge, vehicle occupancy, and flight schedules. The load profile is then used in optimization software to determine the most cost-effective design for the EVCS. Four scenarios were explored, with the optimal scenario being a grid-tied Photovoltaic (PV) and wind turbine (WT) configuration. The cost of energy (COE) is $0.041/kWh, with a profitability index of 5.55. The estimated profit is $0.22 M/year. Compared to the grid-only scenario, the net present cost, COE, and emission can be lowered by 84%, 63%, and 75%. The feasibility research will help decision-makers determine the best adoption of EVCS using renewable energy.
