Abstract:
The main aim of this research is to design two different new soft-switching buck-boost DC-DC converters for the applications in electric vehicles. In general, the conventional, hardswitched non-isolated converters performance affected by high peak ripple inductor current. The alternate solution to reduce ripple inductor current is by introducing the interleaving converters. Basically, the hard- switching interleaved converters reduce the ripple inductor current. However, it has a disadvantage that, there is an increased switching loss. In order to reduce switching losses and improve the overall efficiency, the establishment of softswitching interleaved converter is the best solution. This research focuses mainly on modeling and implementation of soft-switching interleaved DC-DC converter.
