Abstract:
Electric vehicles help to improve traffic and maintain a healthy living environment by emitting zero or ultra-low tailpipe emissions and producing far less noise. As a result, the global car industry is making the transition to zero-emission vehicles. The global transportation industry is undergoing a transition, moving away from traditional fossil fuel-powered vehicles and toward zero or ultra-low tailpipe emission vehicles. To support this transformation, a proper charging station (CS) infrastructure in combination with information technology, smart distributed energy generating units, and favorable government policies are required. The motive of this paper is to address the key aspects to be taken care of while planning for the charging station infrastructure for electric vehicles. The paper also discusses significant research and advances in planning and technical aspects that are currently being pursued in order to improve the design and management of charging station infrastructure. The paper looks at India's current situation in terms of electric vehicle charging station growth. The paper focuses on the research and advancements in charging station technology, as well as the challenges that come with it and the attempts that are being made to standardize it so that researchers can properly address the issues.
