Impact of E-Mobility Penetration on Community Electricity Storage
Publication Year: 2019
Author(s): Stroink A, Wawer T
Abstract:
This paper presents a holistic modeling approach for the optimum sizing of electricity energy storage (EES) units for local energy communities (LECs) with electric vehicle (EV) charging and renewable resources. This research investigates technical and economic benefits of LECs for various EV penetration rates. The authors develop a dataset for a large number of randomly aggregated community demands with EV. The optimization model determines the optimum battery capacities for each case. The research findings are applicable for the optimum sizing of EES for LECs with E-mobility even though concrete household and EV load patterns are unknown due to the high number of community demands examined.
