This standard (Part 3) applies to the representation of the curve as a function of motor speed and the power at full load indicated by the vehicle/motor manufacturer for motors of electric drive trains and the maximum 30 min power of electric drive trains intended for the propulsion for L, M and N categories of electric power train vehicles.

This Indian Standard (Part 21/Sec 2) which is identical with IEC 61851-21-2: 2018 ‘Electric vehicle conductive charging system — Part 21-2: Electric vehicle requirements for conductive connection to an AC/DC supply- EMC requirements for off-board electric vehicle charging systems’ issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards on the recommendation of the Electrotechnology in Mobility Sectional Committee and approval of the Electrotechnical Division Council.

This notification of the Central Motor Vehicles (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 2016 involves the inclusion of Mass emission standards for bio-diesel (B100). 

This document is an amendment to the revised guidelines & standards for charging infrastructure for the electric vehicle issued by this Ministry of Power on 1st October 2019.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962) and sub-section (12) of section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue)

This standard is applicable to Light Electric Vehicle AC Charge Point (LEV AC Charge Point), which is a basic conductive AC charging option for charging light electric road vehicles with rated supply voltage 240 V a.c. and current up to 16A a.c. The standard covers requirements of LEV AC Charge Point with respect to functionality, environmental aspects, energy measurement, mechanical and electrical safety considerations.
