Energy transition pathways for the 2030 agenda: sustainable energy transition road map for Chiang Rai Province, Thailand
2022
Author(s): The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)
The Sustainable Energy Transition Road Map for Chiang Rai Province has two main objectives. First, it aims to establish a scenario baseline for 2019-2030, considering the current policy settings. Comparative study on low carbon city development in China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea
2021
Author(s): Li Y, Chen M, Montero D, Abraham B, Jin Z, Akagi J, Kang S
This report analyses and compares the low carbon city policies and practices of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, with the goal of identifying sector-specific and city-specific good practices that may be instructive to researchers and policymakers in the wider NEA region. It examines key national-level carbon mitigation policies and sector-specific actions, reviews both top-down and bottom-up low carbon city policy-design and implementation mechanisms and describes fifteen case studies on greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions with specific insights. This report will be used in NEA-LCCP information-sharing activities and to promote regional cooperation on low carbon development and climate action.
The 15th annual “State of Green Business” report comes at an exciting and perilous time for companies, their stakeholders and the world in general. Business and, indeed, humankind is undergoing an epochal transition. Nearly everything must be reinvented if we are to equitably prosper into the future. If any institution on the planet has the resources and wherewithal to provide the human and financial firepower to get it done, it’s business. The good news is that companies are making great progress, with lots more on the way. But will it be too little, too late?
Recharge EU: how many charge points will Europe and its Member States need in the 2020s
2020
Author(s): Transport & Environment
This report outlines Transport & Environment's charging masterplan for Europe, including both the numbers of public chargers needed and the funding mechanisms to nudge the market in the right direction. A new EU policy framework for alternative fuels infrastructure (AFID) and the funding mechanisms currently discussed in the European Green Deal are the two cornerstones to deliver an ambitious EU recharging infrastructure masterplan.
Non-exhaust particulate emissions from road transport: an ignored environmental policy challenge
2020
Author(s): Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development
This report synthesizes the current state of knowledge about the nature, causes, and consequences of non-exhaust particulate emissions. It also projects how particulate matter emissions from non-exhaust sources may evolve in future years and reflects on policy instrument mixes that can address this largely ignored environmental issue.
Vehicle-grid integration: a new frontier for electric mobility in India
2020
Author(s): Das S, Deb S
This study aims to present the evolving concept of VGI and its different elements and analyse the feasibility of its implementation in the Indian context. It also provides a roadmap for VGI implementation in India by taking into account the domestic electric vehicle ecosystem
This report provides a non-technical summary of the latest information on electric road vehicles in Europe, including those with hybrid technologies. It focuses upon electric passenger vehicles, explaining the different types that are now available on the market, how each type works, and their respective advantages and disadvantages.
The WEO 2021 has been designed, exceptionally, as a guidebook to COP26. It spells out clearly what is at stake – what the pledges to reduce emissions made by governments so far mean for the energy sector and the climate. And it makes clear what more needs to be done to move beyond these announced pledges towards a pathway that would have a good chance of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C and avoiding the worst effects of climate change.
Charging up India’s electric vehicles: infrastructure deployment & power system integration
2019
Author(s): Bhagwat P, Hadush SY, Bhagwat SRK
This study aims to provide a vision for the future of EV charging infrastructure deployment and power system integration via a toolbox consisting of solution choices and recommendations for addressing each of the questions.
Unlocking the economic potential of rooftop solar PV in India
2020
Author(s): International Energy Agency
This report is based on the insights of the workshop’s participants, supplemented by the outcome of additional analysis by IEA and CEEW. It aims to answer six key questions regarding the acceleration of RTS expansion in India, and offers detailed policy options, business solutions and administrative modifications for the rapid deployment of RTS. Most of the proposed solutions could accelerate the deployment of RTS in the next one to two years, and do not require the implementation of structural changes in the central or state regulatory frameworks.
