The WEO 2021 has been designed, exceptionally, as a guidebook to COP26. It spells out clearly what is at stake – what the pledges to reduce emissions made by governments so far mean for the energy sector and the climate. And it makes clear what more needs to be done to move beyond these announced pledges towards a pathway that would have a good chance of limiting global warming to 1.5 °C and avoiding the worst effects of climate change.

This report is based on the insights of the workshop’s participants, supplemented by the outcome of additional analysis by IEA and CEEW. It aims to answer six key questions regarding the acceleration of RTS expansion in India, and offers detailed policy options, business solutions and administrative modifications for the rapid deployment of RTS. Most of the proposed solutions could accelerate the deployment of RTS in the next one to two years, and do not require the implementation of structural changes in the central or state regulatory frameworks.
This roadmap details out the role of energy storage systems in maintaining grid reliability with the increase in RE and EVE penetration of the grid and will also facilitate the utilities to understand the economic opportunities of energy storage system at various levels of RE and EV penetrations.

This report shows that the transformational change needed to meet the Paris Agreement and reach net zero emissions by mid-century can be critically supported by coupling the decarbonization of the power and transport sectors. A coupled transition of both sectors would not only contribute to drastically reduce emissions but also has the potential to grow the region’s economy and improve public health.

In this report, the Forum provides a commentary on key areas of the TCFD’s recommendations based on members’ individual experience of implementing them. The commentary is supported by examples of effective practice that are consistent with the recommendations. The report also includes proposals for how disclosures might be enhanced over time. Given its publication date, examples are taken from a mix of Forum members’ 2019 and 2020 Annual Reports, Sustainability Reports and other public communications such as investor presentations.
This report recommends that the government’s ban on petrol and diesel vehicles is brought forward ten years, from 2040 to 2030. But, it says, targets alone won’t be enough. A comprehensive strategy including switching the government vehicle fleet to 100 per cent EV, will be needed to put Britain in a position to be a market leader.
