The city of Pune is working on pathbreaking local initiatives to implement national and state government EV policies on the ground and foster innovation in its electric mobility ecosystem. In October 2021, the civic body that governs Pune, known as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), constituted an “EV cell” to serve as a centralised, structured governance body for facilitating EV ecosystem-related developments in the city and coordinating the actions of government departments, industry, and residents.

Meghalaya Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021

In a move to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, the Meghalaya government has announced Electric Vehicle Policy 2021. Its key goal, the policy document elucidates, intends to ensure 15 percent share for electric vehicles in the state by 2025. In the pursuit of the goals, the state government intends to bring in roughly 20,000 electric vehicles in the state within the next five years. This, it noted, will help save roughly 50 lakh ltr of fuel. The state government expects a reduction of around 10,000 kg of CO2 on a daily basis and a reduction of over 36.5 lakh kg of CO2 annually.

Delhi Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme, 2023

This scheme shall be applicable to Aggregator, Delivery Service Provider, and E-Commerce Entity with at least 25 motor vehicles associated with such Aggregator or Delivery Service Provider, such that Aggregator who have on-boarded 2-W, 3-W, and 4-W passenger vehicles and for Delivery Service Provider who have on-boarded any category of delivery vehicles for, and shall not apply for buses.

Draft Goa Electric Mobility Promotion Policy 2021

The government of Goa has issued the draft ‘Goa Electric Mobility Promotion Policy, 2021’ for the adoption of electric vehicles and to cut down the carbon emissions making the state greener. This Policy is applicable to all classes of Electric Vehicles including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, 4-wheelers including passenger cars and commercial light/heavy vehicles that are registered and operated in Goa. This Policy shall be applicable to Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), Strong Hybrid Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV), as per FAME-II notifications and provisions.
