Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka leading states in EV sales: Government

Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Karnataka have emerged as top three states in terms of registration of electric vehicles in India. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari said that 870,141 electric vehicles have been registered in India. Uttar Pradesh (255,700) has the highest registered electric vehicles, followed by Delhi (125,347) and Karnataka (72,544) come in that order.

NITI Aayog launches 'e-Sawari India E-Bus Coalition' in tie-up with CESL

NITI Aayog has announced the launch of 'e-Sawaari India Electric Bus Coalition' in partnership with Convergence Energy Service Ltd (CESL) and World Resources Institute, India, with support from Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI). The coalition has been launched with the aim to share knowledge and learnings on e-bus adoption in India among various stakeholders, including central and state governments, city-level government agencies, transit service providers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), financing institutions and ancillary service providers.

GIZ India, partners, release report on smart charging strategies for e-vehicles in India

GIZ India, in cooperation with NITI Aayog, Government of India, and Tata Power has released the first report titled, ‘A Critical Review: Smart Charging Strategies and Technologies for Electric Vehicles’. The report focuses on concepts of smart charging, a critical review of various smart charging strategies and approaches for electric vehicles, smart charging technologies, and related commercially available smart charging products along with the impact of EVs on the power system and power grid.

Goa CM launches Electricity Mobility Promotion Policy to promote e-vehicle usage

The chief minister of Goa has launched Goa Electricity Mobility Promotion Policy 2021 to promote usage of e-vehicles. The policy's main objective to launch the policy is to promote use of battery-driven vehicles and create jobs for the people of the state. The state government will also provide subsidy to the buyers of e-vehicles, and set up charging infrastructure.

Delhi government releases EV charging norms for corporates

Nissan to invest $18 billion on electric vehicles, battery development

Nissan is investing 2 trillion yen ($17.6 billion) over the next five years and developing a cheaper, more powerful battery to boost its electric vehicle lineup. 15 new electric vehicles will be available by fiscal 2030. Nissan Motor Co. is aiming for a 50% "electrification" of the company's model lineup, under what Uchida called the "Nissan Ambition 2030" long-term plan.

EV Push: FAME-II scheme achieves just 10% target with 4 months left in original deadline

The Indian government's flagship electric vehicles promotion scheme FAME II has so far disbursed just under 10% of the INR 8596 crore earmarked to be given as purchase subsidies with just four months to go in its original deadline. FAME-II scheme was originally intended for a period of three years ending 31 March 2022. It was extended earlier this year by a period of 24 months till 31 March 2024.

CESL inks pact with IIT Bombay to establish EV charging infrastructure
