With the Centre pushing for energy-efficient e-vehicles, ride-hailing major Ola has commenced the construction of a mega-factory on its 500-acre site in Tamil Nadu, eyeing to start its Phase-1 production of electric scooters within months. Coming up at a cost of INR 2400 crore at Hosur, this will be the world’s largest scooter factory, from where Ola's EV arm will be rolling out a range of electric scooters amid rising fuel prices.
Amazon partners with Mahindra Electric to strengthen its electric vehicle fleet in India

Amazon is all set to add 10,000 vehicles to its local delivery fleet by 2025. Under the partnership, Amazon India has deployed close to a hundred Mahindra Treo Zor EVs in seven major cities. These cities so far include Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore, and Lucknow.

Delhi government to soon start registration of e-autos: State transport minister

The Delhi government will soon start facilitating registration of e-autos that can save up to INR 29,000 as compared to their CNG equivalents. Under its 'Switch Delhi' campaign, the Delhi government will now focus on adoption of electric three-wheelers, including e-autos, e-rickshaws, and e-carts. Under Delhi's electric vehicle policy, 177 three-wheeler models are available and eligible for purchase and scrapping incentives.
Triton EV plans to launch electric car in India this year – to rival Tesla

Triton-EV that has announced plans to launch its first product in the Indian market. Named N4, the electric sedan will be rivalling Tesla Model 3 in the Indian market. For the Indian market, the company is looking to collaborate with Bharat Electronics Ltd. No road tax, registration fee on electric vehicles in Telangana from February 3

Telangana government has exempted road tax and registration fee on purchase of various kinds of electric vehicles running on batteries, instead of fuel. According to the government order, 100% road tax and registration fee exemption would be given for the first two lakh electric two-wheelers, first 20,000 electric 3-wheelers, first 10,000 electric light goods carriers including 3-wheelers (goods carriers), first 5,000 private cars and 5,000 electric four-wheelers (commercial passenger vehicles like cabs and tourist taxis).
Boost for state green transport proposal, Bengal expects share of INR 18k crore pie

Kolkata and other towns in Bengal expect a sizeable share of INR 18,000 crore pie for the augmentation of public bus transport service that will be green and run by alternative clean energy. The opex model of operation in the FAME-II scheme has widened the opportunity of participation of private players. The scheme, the Union Finance Minister said in her budget speech, will facilitate the deployment of innovative PPP models to enable private sector players to finance, acquire, operate and maintain over 20,000 buses.
