Pune Municipal Corporation to start 500 charging stations for electric vehicles

Pune Municipal Corporation has finalised locations 500 charging stations at public places across areas to help users of EVs in a bid to promote the use of e-bikes and e-cars. The civic administration aims to charge a minimum amount for charging EVs and the money will be used for upkeep of the stations.
Telangana government to allow private electric vehicles recharge station

With usage of electric vehicles (EVs) going up and demand for charging stations for EVs also growing, the Telangana state government is planning to allow private recharge stations under build operate and transfer (BOT) mode across the state. While there will be one recharging station for every 5 km in the city, one station for every 27 kilometres will be set up on national highways.
Bajaj Auto to set up Rs 300 crore EV manufacturing facility in Pune

Bajaj Auto will set up an electric vehicle manufacturing facility at Akurdi in Pune with an investment of Rs 300 crore. The facility, for which the work has already commenced, will have the capacity to produce 5,00,000 electric vehicles per annum and cater to both domestic and exports markets, the company said in a release.
India's EV space to see investments worth INR 94,000 crore, Tamil Nadu to lead with 34% share

The EV segment in India is likely to see investments worth $12.6 billion (INR 94,000 crore) over the next five years, while 1300 acres will be required to set up the targeted 110 GWh battery manufacturing capacity by 2030, said property consulting firm Colliers in a joint report with Indospace titled ‘Electric Mobility in Full Gear’. Most of the investments are planned in the EV components and assembly-line production, followed by investments in battery manufacturing.

Delhiites are opting for electric vehicles (EV) as EV sales have been registered six times higher in the city than in the rest of the country. According to the Transport Department, EV accounted for the second most bought type of vehicles in the September-November quarter accounting for nine percent of the vehicles sold while the national average rests at only 1.6 per cent.

Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Karnataka have emerged as top three states in terms of registration of electric vehicles in India. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Road Transport and Highways Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari said that 870,141 electric vehicles have been registered in India. Uttar Pradesh (255,700) has the highest registered electric vehicles, followed by Delhi (125,347) and Karnataka (72,544) come in that order.
NITI Aayog launches 'e-Sawari India E-Bus Coalition' in tie-up with CESL

NITI Aayog has announced the launch of 'e-Sawaari India Electric Bus Coalition' in partnership with Convergence Energy Service Ltd (CESL) and World Resources Institute, India, with support from Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI). The coalition has been launched with the aim to share knowledge and learnings on e-bus adoption in India among various stakeholders, including central and state governments, city-level government agencies, transit service providers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), financing institutions and ancillary service providers.

Goa CM launches Electricity Mobility Promotion Policy to promote e-vehicle usage

The chief minister of Goa has launched Goa Electricity Mobility Promotion Policy 2021 to promote usage of e-vehicles. The policy's main objective to launch the policy is to promote use of battery-driven vehicles and create jobs for the people of the state. The state government will also provide subsidy to the buyers of e-vehicles, and set up charging infrastructure.
