Chandigarh administration approves city's first electric vehicle policy

The policy will incentivise the adoption of a wide arena of electric vehicles including electric bicycles, two-wheelers, three-wheelers, electric cargo vehicles as well as four-wheelers, passenger and commercial. The incentives will be over and above the central government’s FAME II subsidy and customers who want to avail have to register their vehicle in Chandigarh.
EV charging stations to be built at all Delhi government offices

According to a Delhi government statement, the stations will be ready in three months. The idea is to popularise EVs among government officials who can charge their vehicles while at office. The single window process can be used to install EV chargers from DISCOM-empanelled vendors at low tariffs.

The Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDC) and World Resources Institute, India (WRI India) launched the ‘EV Charging Guidebook for Shopping Malls in Delhi’ on February 4, 2022 to simplify and enable the adoption of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging in the parking space of shopping malls in Delhi.
Government increases allocation for EV subsidy threefold

In its bid to accelerate the adoption for less-polluting vehicles in India, the government has tripled its budgetary allocation for the scheme to subsidise the purchase of electric vehicles. As per the budget document, the subsidy under the Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles (FAME) for fiscal 2023 is projected at INR 2908 crore, or more than three-and-a-half times the allocation of INR 800 crore for this fiscal year and almost nine times higher than FY21.
Ather to set up 1000 fast charging stations across Karnataka

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Ather Energy and state-run electric supply companies (Escoms). Escoms will be the nodal agency to provide technical support. Government agencies will coordinate with the Escoms to share available spaces for the charging stations.

To promote eco-friendly means of transportation and decarbonize the transport sector, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has notified mass emission standards to introduce alternate fuels viz. blends of ethanol with gasoline ( E-10, E-12, E-15, E-20), flex-fuel (E 85) or (E 100) and Ethanol blend for diesel vehicles (ED 95), Biodiesel, Bio-CNG, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Methanol M15 or M100 and Methanol MD 95, dual fuel, M85 and Di-Methyl Ether (DME or D100), Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle, Hydrogen CNG.
