Haryana Cabinet approves state electric vehicle policy

The policy encourages new manufacturing in the EV technology and also encourages the existing automobile manufacturers to diversify in the EV manufacturing domain. There is 100 per cent reimbursement of stamp duty along with exemption in Electricity Duty for a period of 20 years. The state GST (SGST) reimbursement shall be 50 per cent of the applicable Net SGST for a period of 10 years.

BIS formulates performance standards for Electric Vehicle Batteries

Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS), National Standard Body of India, has published standards for Test Specifications for Lithium-ion Traction Battery Packs and Systems (Performance Testing) for Electrically Propelled Road Vehicles. The standard IS 17855: 2022 for these battery packs and systems is harmonized with ISO 12405-4: 2018.

Telangana receives the state’s first Plug-and-play EV Park

The state’s first plug-and-play EV Park and Two and Three-Wheeler Electric vehicles, produced by Vayu Motors and Zero 21, was launched recently. The EV Park has an incubation centre for EV startups that can leverage MG’s manufacturing capabilities and infrastructure.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has come out with performance standards for electric vehicle batteries in order to ensure the safety of consumers. The standard "IS 17855: 2022" has been formulated for lithium-ion traction battery packs and systems of electrically-propelled road vehicles and it has been harmonized with ISO 12405-4: 2018.

Tata Power adds 150 EV charging stations in Mumbai

Tata Power has installed 150 EV chargers across Mumbai catering to commercial spaces like malls, commercial installations and petrol pumps besides residential complexes in Mumbai. According to Tata Power, the 150 EV chargers set up in Mumbai will draw power from renewable or clean energy sources like wind, solar and water.

Jio-bp to set up EV fast chargers, battery swap stations in these 13 cities soo

Jio-bp has tied up with Nexus Malls group to set up EV fast chargers at its commercial spaces across 13 cities in India in coming days. The two companies have tied up to roll out EV charging stations as well as EV battery swapping stations at 17 malls spread across 13 cities in India. Jio-bp is currently operating its EV charging and swapping stations under the brand Jio-bp pulse.

30% of vehicles sold in India by end of decade will be electric: Report

Almost a third of the vehicles sold in India by 2030 will be electric led by two- and three-wheelers but the penetration of electric in the car segment will remain low, according to a report from Arthur D Little. The total sales of electric vehicles (EV) by 2030 are expected to cross the 10- million-units mark, the report further said. With that, nearly one in every 10 EVs sold worldwide will be sold in India.

The domestic electric vehicle industry will cross sales of 10 million vehicles by 2030, with an overall adoption rate of more than 30 per cent across different vehicle categories, says a study. According to a study by Arthur D Little, EV adoption for passenger vehicles is likely to be just 10 per cent by the end of the period, amounting to a strikingly small 5 per cent of total EV sales.

BIS establishes performance standards for EV batteries in India

The need for these standards arose after a spate of fires in two-wheeler EVs which also led to loss of lives. Batteries for vehicles that fall under the L (Mopeds, Motorcycles, Motor Tricycles and Quadricycles), M (passenger vehicles having at least four wheels), and N (goods carrying vehicles having at least four wheels) will be covered under these safety standards.

Volkswagen plans to sell first electric car in India in 2023

Volkswagen AG is looking to sell its first electric car, the ID.4 sports utility vehicle, in India in limited quantities next year as the South Asian nation pushes for faster adoption of cleaner vehicles. Volkswagen is expecting to start local assembly of its electric cars in India around 2025 or 2027.
