Zero and Low Carbon Mobility
2015
Author(s): German Partnership for Sustainable Mobility (GPSM), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH
In Germany, the transport sector accounts for almost 20% of all greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, 95% of which are emitted by road transport. The Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) has developed a comprehensive strategy to tackle this issue on behalf of the German Federal Government.
Highlighting the issue of urban motorization which ultimately drives CO2 growth in China and India, this report approaches modeling urban transport policy options for these world’s two most populous countries.
Certain Investigations on the Development of Electric Vehicle Control Schemes
2015
Author(s): Veerakumar S
This thesis introduces a new propulsion scheme for EV to reduce CO2 emissions.
The book provides an overview of developments in emobility in Europe and USA – a fast growing sector linking engineering, infra, environment, transport and sustainable development. It attempts to serve for benefit of society, environment, public health and in turn development of private industry and economic development.
Modeling and Analysis of Electric Vehicle Charging Interface
2015
Author(s): Joy, TPER
This thesis describes the design, control and analysis of both contact based and contactless power transfer system suitable for EV charging system applications.
Intended Nationally-Determined Contributions (INDCs) Offer Opportunities for Ambitious Action on Transport and Climate Change
2015
Author(s): Gota S, Huizenga C, Peet K, Kaar G
Intended Nationally-Determined Contributions (INDCs) represent a unique opportunity to increase bold mitigation and adaptation measures in transport and other sectors. The major findings of the report revealed that among 133 INDCs representing 160 countries, 77% explicitly identify the transport sector as a mitigation source, and more than 61% of INDCs propose transport sector specific mitigation measures.
Electric Vehicles: A Sustainable Solution to Air Pollution in Delhi
2015
Author(s): Pillai RK, Ahuja A
The objective of this paper is to highlight the relevance of electric vehicles (EVs) in reducing air pollution in cities and their significant environmental benefits. The paper recommends phased approach for rollout of EVs in Delhi on fast track.
The transport sector now accounts for about 23% (7.3 Gt) of annual global energy-related CO2 emissions (32 Gt). This is a significant rise over the last few decades, and to achieve a two-degree scenario CO2 emissions from transport would need to decline to 5.7 Gt annually.
Results Framework on Sustainable Transport
2015
Author(s): Sayeg P, Starkey P, Huizenga C, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, UN-Habitat
The Results Framework on Sustainable Transport describes the potential contribution of sustainable land-based transport to the realisation of the post‐2015 Development Agenda and associated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
