Why Regional and Long-Haul Trucks are Primed for Electrification Now
2021
Author(s): Phadke A, Khandekar A, Abhyankar N, Wooley D, Rajagopa D
Zero emission freight trucks are needed to both improve public health and reduce global greenhouse gas emissions but at the same time are generally believed to be uneconomical. However, recent dramatic declines in battery prices and improvement in their energy density have created opportunities for battery-electric trucking today that were seldom anticipated just a few years ago.
Electric Vehicle Ultra-Fast Battery Chargers: A Boost for Power System Stability?
2021
Author(s): Mandrile F, Cittanti D, Mallemaci V, Bojoi R
Ultra-fast charging (UFC) stations are starting to pose serious challenges to the electric power system operation, mostly due to their high peak power demand and unregulated discontinuous operation.
The insights from this book are meant to address the recent technology advancements, the low carbon footprint mobility segment, emerging EV Battery technologies, operating principles of Electric Motors, the changes in electric drive train systems, the regenerative braking system, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment with various types of EV chargers and the establishment of an appropriate charging infrastructure
Resilience Oriented Vehicle-to-Home Operation Based on Battery Swapping Mechanism
2021
Author(s): Mehrjerdi H
The electric vehicle (EV) battery swapping is a strategy to increase the acceptance rate of EVs and to deal with the concerns regarding lengthy charging times and range anxiety related to the EVs. This paper considers battery swapping and energy resilience in the building integrated with electric vehicle (EV), reserve battery, and solar energy.
A Pilot Project on Solar-Energy-Based Electric Vehicle Charging
2021
Author(s): Kandagal V S
Electric vehicles (EVs) are being aggressively pursued by many countries across the world as one of the solutions to address climate change. Owing to their zero tailpipe emissions, they are expected to counter the harmful effects of emissions from fossil-fuel-based vehicles
