The Delhi government has notified the Motor Vehicle Aggregator and Delivery Service Provider Scheme mandating clear guidelines for transition of commercial vehicles to electric (EVs) along with standards for service quality and public safety. The scheme sets the stage for comprehensive regulation and licensing of aggregators providing passenger transport services and delivery service providers. By 2030, the commercial vehicle fleets of all aggregators, delivery service providers and e-commerce entities in Delhi will go electric in phases.

Electric buses are expected to account for up to 13 per cent of new bus sales by FY2025, according to rating agency ICRA. Many State Electric Vehicle (EV) policies have announced specific targets and timelines for e-bus adoption, thereby creating a road map for electrification, it noted. With significant operational savings vis-à-vis conventional diesel buses, ICRA said it expects the demand for e-buses to continue to rise.
Tamil Nadu to have own vehicle scrappage policy soon

The state Industries Minister said that the policy, which is in the discussion stage, will be inclusive and would cater to all categories of people by offering subsidies to the poor to join the green energy transition.
