Bounce battery-swapping stations now to be interoperable with other EVs

In an industry-first move, two-wheeler electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Bounce Infinity has announced the opening up of its battery-swapping network for other EV brands. Bounce has struck a strategic partnership with Greaves Retail to provide battery-swapping stations for Greaves-owned Ampere scooters.

Tata Motors is planning to invest INR 15,000 crore in the EV segment in the next five years. The company, which is a leader in the newly emerging EV segment with offerings such as Nexon, is also planning to develop around 10 more new offerings in the segment.

Sales of electric two-and-three-wheelers pick up in East, northeast

Electric two- and three-wheelers are becoming popular in the east and the northeast with the region contributing about 9 per cent to the total sales in India. Assam, Odisha and West Bengal now contribute approximately nine per cent to total EV sales in India with Assam itself contributing five per cent, according to Mr Anil Agarwal of Okaya Electric Vehicles, which manufactures electric two-wheelers.

Sony, Honda to form new company to develop and sell electric vehicles

The two companies said in a statement they would form a joint venture to develop and sell the electric vehicles this year and aim to begin selling the first model in 2025. Honda will be responsible for manufacturing the first model, while Sony will develop the mobility service platform.

DTC Board approves deployment of 1500 electric buses under CESL 'Grand Challenge'

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Board has given in-principle approval for the deployment of 1500 electric buses under an initiative of Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), paving the way for a clean public transport system in the national capital. Through its 'Grand Challenge' scheme, CESL proposes to deploy 5450 single-decker and 130 double-decker buses in five metros - Bangalore, Delhi, Surat, Hyderabad and Kolkata - in the first phase.

15% electric vehicles in Himachal by 2025

The Himachal Pradesh Transport Minister has said that the state government has set up a target to replace 15 per cent of vehicles in Himachal with electric vehicles by 2025. The key objective of the state EV policy is to make Himachal a global hub in electric mobility and manufacture of electric vehicles and to create public and private charging infrastructure for such vehicles.
