One in ten petrol pumps now offers EV charging, CNG

India has about 84,600 fuel retail outlets, of which 8,900 offer alternative fuels such as CNG, auto LPG or EV charging facilities, according to the oil ministry data. EV charging facility is available at 4100 pumps, CNG at 4000 pumps and auto LPG at 700. The private sector, which controls a tenth of the country's fuel stations, offers alternative fuelling options at less than 200 pumps.

Delhi gets 11 ‘cheaper’ EV Charging Stations

To give a further push to the adoption of electric vehicles, chief minister of Delhi, Mr Arvind Kejriwal has launched 11 high-tech, low-cost EV charging stations in the capital. The stations have been set up on public-private partnership (PPP), and have 73 charging points and 12 battery swapping facilities.

Uttar Pradesh announces new EV policy, offers incentives to buyers, manufacturers

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the New Electric Vehicle Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, 2022, to promote faster adoption of clean mobility solutions and create a conducive ecosystem for EVs in the state. The policy provides for a three-pronged incentive regime that includes benefits to consumers for purchasing EVs; to manufacturers of EVs, batteries and related components; and to service providers developing charging/ swapping facilities.

Delhi to run pilot scheme for installation of 150 kerbside EV chargers

The plan to pilot 150 kerbside EV chargers spread across the city was finalised in a review meeting. The pilot project being designed by the Dialogue and Development Commission in collaboration with power discoms and Public Works Committee aims to eventually install more than 5000 kerbside EV chargers across all major Delhi roads in the next three years.

Ashok Leyland, IIT Madras researchers join hands to develop hybrid EVs using turbine technology

The collaboration aims to develop a series of hybrid electric vehicles using the turbine technology, which will replace the large batteries in the main powertrain to generate power onboard. Ashok Leyland and IIT Madras are collaborating to develop and commercialize ‘Swirl Mesh Lean Direct Injection (LDI) system’ technology for developing a series of hybrid electric vehicles (EVs) using this turbine technology.

Delhi gets 1000 EV charging points under single-window facility

The Delhi government has completed the installation of 1000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points under the single-window facility. This includes 682 charging slots installed at 315 locations by BSES Rajdhani Power Limited, 150 installed at 70 locations by BSES Yamuna Power Limited, and 168 installed at 50 locations by Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited.
